Retrofit Projects in the U.S.
Across the United States, diesel retrofit programs and demonstration projects have grown significantly over the past several years. These programs and projects demonstrate the applicability and feasibility of EPA and/or California Air Resources Board verified (or certified) pollution reduction retrofit technologies and fuels for both on-road and off-road vehicles and equipment.
In conjunction with state and local governments, public interest groups, and industry partners, EPA has established a goal of reducing emissions from the over 11 million diesel engines in the existing fleet by 2014.
